  • As you all know, the terms for President, Bus Maintenance Director and Rail Director of TMSA are expiring on 11/1/2009.  The deadline for members to declare their intent to seek election to these positions was 10/13/2009.  The outcome of this process is as follows:

     “Whereas, there was no competition for the office of President/Business Agent for the next term (11/01/09 – 11/01/12), and whereas there was only one person seeking the office of President/Business Agent, the TMSA Board of Director’s declares the office of President/Business Agent to Steven Jaeger for the three-year term”.

     “Whereas,  there was no competition for the office of Director, Maintenance work unit for the next term (11/01/09 – 11/01/11), and whereas there was only one person seeking the office of Director, Maintenance work unit, the TMSA Board of Director’s declares the office of Director,  Maintenance work unit to Paul Slesar for the two year term”.

     “Whereas, there was no competition for the office of Director, Rail work unit for the next term (11/01/09 – 11/01/11),  and whereas there was only one person seeking the office of Director, Rail work unit, the TMSA Board of Director’s declares the office of Director, Rail work unit to Jonathon Hendrickson for the two year term”.

     The TMSA Rail Director, John Mc Guire, submitted his resignation as Rail Director on 10/7/2009.  The TMSA Board of Directors, under TMSA By-Laws, has appointed Jonathon Hendrickson to fill Mr. Mc Guire’s unexpired term until 11/1/2009.

     No election will be held the week of 10/19/2009.  

  • On January 7, 2009 a member was discharged by the employer. The member is grieving this discharge and the employer has upheld its decision through the first two steps. A vote by the membership for arbitration was held on Monday March 16, 2009. The results were 25 for and 5 against proceeding to arbitration on this matter.
